On Nov. 10, 1975 an ore laden freighter by the name of the "Edmund Fitzgerald" went down in a hurricane type storm on Lake Superior. All 29 crew members lost their lives. The Split Rock Lighthouse on Minnesota's North Shore lights the lamp rarely; but they lit it tonight in honor of those 29 men. It was rainy, windy and very cold; but we were there to see the lamp being lit and to celebrate the lives of those 29 men. Photo isn't the greatest; but when you have 30 mile an hour gusts coming right at your face and camera lens, you do the best you can. Tonight I celebrate the 1000 or so people who came out to see the lighting of the lamp and to remember.
